Guanajuato is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to about 150,000 residents. Its rich history includes its identity as the home of the Mexican Independence Movement, a failed attempt to rebel against Colonial rule, and religious and artists festivals. In addition, the architecture built with native pink and green sandstone is a sight to behold!
Despite this rich history of Guanajuato, today it's plagued by poverty, violence, and less than 2% who profess to know the Lord as their Savior.
An additional 150,000 residents have migrated to the southern parts of the region. And, the University of Guanajuato, the largest university in Latin America, is based here.
Brazos De Dios Guanajuato desires to reach this community, serving as the hands and feet of Jesus, to restore the city to its former glory, bringing beauty, hope, and life to each person in the city.
With an influx of people arriving at this beautiful community for work and school, there is an opportunity to reach the nations with the Gospel of Jesus and nourish them with living water.
